MIPDoc Unveils 2020 Conference Lineup

MIPDoc has revealed the conference program lineup for this year’s event, which will take place in a new venue at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes next month.

Presented by Disney Media Distribution, National Geographic’s Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller is slated to have its world premiere screening at MIPDoc. Exploring the inner workings of the global black market underworld, each investigation is led by the Peabody and duPont Award-winning journalist Mariana van Zeller. The program also features a world exclusive preview of Neill Blomkamp’s collaboration with Otago Productions, Makwerekwere, An African Tragedy, which confronts the xenophobia and animosity between black communities after the victory against apartheid in South Africa.

Among those delivering keynotes at MIPDoc will be Kate Ward, president of VICE Studios, who will lay out her vision for the global production business and share her thoughts on how being part of a global network can fuel creativity. Further, the independent distributor Terranoa will mark its 20th anniversary this year with a MIPDoc showcase unveiling its upcoming programming slate.

A series of Content Strategy sessions at MIPDoc will feature key content executives from companies like Discovery, DocuBay, HOOQ, ViacomCBS and Red Arrow, who will share their acquisition and commissioning strategies.

MIPDoc will take place in Cannes at the Palais des Festivals from March 28 to 29.
