Asylum & Tyler Perry Link Up for New Joint Venture

Asylum Entertainment Group and Tyler Perry’s Tyler Perry Studios have teamed up for a joint venture focused on unscripted programming.

The two companies will work together to co-develop, co-produce and distribute a wide range of unscripted programming. As part of the new venture, Antoinette Stallings has been named VP of unscripted programming at Tyler Perry Studios and will work alongside Asylum to develop and produce various unscripted formats.

Stallings began her career as a talent production assistant on Nick Cannon Presents: Wild N Out before delving into production at Cossette Productions, where she contributed to major events like the BET Awards. She went on to become a producer on shows such as 106 & Park, Rising Icons, Black Girls Rock and Centric’s BEING. She then worked at Fremantle, Erving as associate producer for A&E’s Grand Designs, TLC’s Down South Dance and FOX’s Take Me Out. She joined Tyler Perry Studios as a post producer in 2019 and ascended to creative executive, overseeing various scripted projects in development and current programming.

Tyler Perry Studios, based in Atlanta, has developed and produced a wide range of projects spanning film, TV and stage, including Mea Culpa (Netflix), A Jazzman’s Blues (Netflix), Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story (Prime Video), The Haves and Have Nots (OWN), The Oval (BET) and the Madea films and stage productions.
