LONDON: Channel 4 has commissioned Northern Ireland’s Big Mountain Productions (Genealogy Roadshow) to produce Generation Foundation, an hour-long film focused on the art of makeup.

Generation Foundation explores the world of individuals who use makeup to express themselves. The production was commissioned by Gill Wilson, the head of features for Channel 4. The series producer is Lucy Wedlock, whose credits include One Born Every Minute and Come Dine with Me.

Wilson commented: “It’s harder than ever to make a mark as an individual with makeup. Those we feature are pushing the boundaries to its limit, trying to create a look which is unique, shocking, utterly perfect or all three.”

Jane Kelly, executive producer and creative director for Big Mountain, added: “We are proud to be bringing a growing worldwide phenomenon to prime-time TV in a fun accessible new format for Channel 4. We’ve quite a track record in spotting new ways into global subjects from our base in Northern Ireland so we’re excited to see where our latest trend spotting will take us.”
