Leftfield Pictures Aligns with Dennis Quaid for Unscripted Project

ITV America’s Leftfield Pictures (History’s Alone, Surviving Joe Exotic) has teamed up with the actor Dennis Quaid for a new unscripted TV project.

Tentatively titled Saving Dennis Quaid, the show centers on Quaid and Jimmy Jellinek’s rescue mission to adopt a 6-year-old black cat from Lynchburg, Virginia aptly named Dennis Quaid. Executive produced by Quaid, the show will document the duo’s discovery of the cat and the ensuing journey to bring the feline from Lynchburg to his forever home in Los Angeles.

Audio Up Media and Quaid are creating and producing a companion podcast miniseries with the same working title. The Saving Dennis Quaid podcast will live within Audio Up’s expanding pet vertical, alongside The Pet Show, hosted by Quaid and Jellinek. Meanwhile, Quaid, Leftfield Pictures and Audio Up will take the TV project to market imminently.

Quaid said: “I’ve been lucky enough to be associated with the wonderful world of pets through my involvement in recent films. And while I’ve traditionally been more of a dog person, when I heard that ‘Dennis Quaid the Cat’ was in peril, I knew I had to act quickly. It’s been amazing to see the public’s response to our little pet adoption, and during a difficult year for all of us, I’m glad it offered some levity and brightness. I’m very much looking forward to sharing kitty Quaid’s story with viewers and listeners in these new projects.”
