iwonder, the documentary and current affairs streaming service currently available in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, launches today across Southeast Asia.

The service is now available in Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. Viewers in those countries will now have access to over 1,000 factual-entertainment titles from around the world, including exclusive access to The Kleptocrats, an investigation into the multibillion-dollar scandal that funded the exploits seen in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

Other titles available on the service include Deep Web, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room and Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer.

This expansion into new Southeast Asian markets grows iwonder’s exposure five-fold among English-speaking audiences, from 30 million to 150 million people. News stories are integrated into the iwonder homepage and paired with documentary recommendations that explore similar themes and provide deeper context into each topic.

Available with a one-month free trial and then priced at $4.99 per month or $49.90 for an annual subscription, users can sign up at www.iwonder.com or by downloading the iOS or Android mobile or tablet apps to watch on the move or on big screens via Chromecast or Airplay.

iwonder’s co-founder and CEO, James Bridges, said: “High-quality, engaging stories that give much deeper context into what is happening in the world today are the bedrock of our service and we’re excited to be extending that service to fans of factual entertainment across Southeast Asia. iwonder will always focus first on great storytelling that helps us understand more about our world and ourselves. We are passionate about connecting the best of the 30,000 or so documentaries produced each year, so many of which fly under the radar without Hollywood marketing budgets, to audiences that are increasingly migrating to streaming.”
