HBO Explores Legacy of Children’s Music in New Doc

Music Box: Happy And You Know It, exploring the underestimated yet wildly popular genre of children’s music, debuts on HBO on December 25.

The documentary aims to subvert the notion that making music for children is easy and proves that love, imagination and emotional truth are the foundations of songs that resonate. Featured popular children’s artists are musicians Anthony Wiggle, Laurie Berkner, Chris Ballew (Caspar Babypants), Johnny Only and Divinity Roxx; rock critic Rob Harvilla; and culture critic Willa Paskin.

Music Box: Happy And You Know It is part of the new installment of the Music Box series created by Bill Simmons and is directed by Penny Lane. Producers are Gabriel Sedgwick and Julia Lewis; co-executive producers are Geoff Chow, Sean Fennessey and Adam Gibbs. Co-producers: Magdalena Munao, Nickolas Hasse.
