Hat Trick International Bolsters Health & Wellness Slate

Hat Trick International has bolstered its slate of health and wellness titles with the addition of the Channel 4 programs What Not to Eat and Do You Have ADHD?, both of which it will launch at MIPCOM.

“Conversations around obesity, diet and mental health have increased markedly in recent years—and quite rightly—which makes What Not To Eat and Do You Have ADHD? timely as well as topical,” said Sarah Tong, director of sales at Hat Trick International. “From Hat Trick International’s perspective, both titles fit well alongside our other health and wellness shows, such as Plum Pictures’ Michael Mosley: Secrets of Your Big Shop and from Lune Media’s Do You Want To Live Forever?, which have both sold well around the world since they launched internationally at MIPCOM last year.”

What Not to Eat is fronted by professor Tim Spector and Dr. Kandi Ejiofor, who set out to help viewers navigate the world of ultra-processed foods (UPFs). Each episode focuses on one family and their health concerns, including headaches, high blood pressure and cholesterol, hair loss, acne, stress, fatigue and joint problems. The family members are tested by Spector and Ejiofor, who help them to eliminate the worst UPF offenders—many of which are marketed as low-fat, low-calorie “healthy” options—and replace them with nutritious alternatives.

Do You Have ADHD? explores the neurological condition that has become one of the U.K.’s most-searched health-related topics. Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder is a notoriously difficult condition to diagnose, and waiting lists for official diagnosis extend many years. Dr. Karan Rajan, surgeon, and former GP Dr. Clare Bailey Mosely set out to demystify the diagnosis process while offering viewers creative advice on how to live their best lives with ADHD.

Several sales have already been closed for the two series ahead of their international launch at MIPCOM. What Not to Eat has been picked up by SBS Australia, while Do You Have ADHD? has been acquired by TV2 in Norway.
