Gusto TV has commenced filming its newest original series, Spice Secrets, co-hosted by chefs Shahir Massoud and Jasmin Rose Ibrahim.

The ten-episode project will feature a variety of spice applications, techniques and unexpected combinations. Each episode of Spice Secrets explores three to four spices from diverse cultures and locations around the globe, as the hosts share stories, banter and historical knowledge.

Massoud, best known as the former host of CBC’s The Goods, Man of the Kitchen and Around the World in 8 Meals, is a frequent guest on The Marilyn Denis Show and has appeared on Cityline, Breakfast Television, Your Morning and the CW network. He is the author of Eat, Habibi, Eat!, which explores modern Egyptian dishes.

Born in Ottawa, Ibrahim has explored the city as the Live Eye host on CTV Morning Live and represents Lebanese cuisine on Gusto TV’s One World Kitchen. She has produced and hosted Ottawa Experts and co-hosted numerous episodes of Daytime Ottawa on Rogers TV.

Keren Jackman, senior producer at Gusto Worldwide Media, said: “Spice Secrets turns everyday recipes into something special with a little bit of spice. The dishes balance common and uncommon spices, exciting aromas and an explosion of global flavors. Combine all that with the dynamic-duo of chefs Shahir Massoud and Jasmin Ibrahim, and you’ve got a fabulously spicy culinary journey!”
