Global Screen, a TELEPOOL brand, has acquired worldwide distribution rights (excluding German-speaking territories) for the four-part documentary Jan Ullrich—The Hunted.

Available on Prime Video in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the title documents the personal journey of Germany’s only Tour de France winner, Jan Ullrich. For the first time, Ullrich speaks candidly about his greatest triumph, the doping scandal that ended his career and his dark descent into drug abuse.

The series is directed by multi-award-winning Sebastian Dehnhardt and produced by Susanne Laermann and Jan Klophaus, part of the creative team at Constantin Dokumentation.

Ulrike Schroeder, co-head of international sales and acquisitions (TV) at Global Screen, commented: “We are extremely pleased to have acquired Jan Ullrich—The Hunted. Factual programming based on real-life events in the world of major sports continue to have broad appeal to international audiences. With high production values, this unique series tells a fascinating story in a very engaging style—we look forward to offering it to our clients.”

We have been delighted to be able to show his story—the whole story—unfiltered and exclusively to our Prime Video viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The feedback from the audience and the press has been overwhelming, and we are sure that this moving documentary will also captivate viewers worldwide.”
