Global Sales for Vegas Rat Rods & Other Factual Titles

TORONTO: More than 150 hours of factual programming and documentaries, including the third season of Vegas Rat Rods, have been licensed across Europe, LatAm and beyond in a series of deals closed by Proper Rights.

Season three of Vegas Rat Rods was acquired by Discovery Latin America, Discovery France and Discovery Italy, as well as by Foxtel Australia and MTG for channels TV10 in Sweden and V4 in Norway. Foxtel also purchased Blood and Fury: America’s Civil War for Australia and New Zealand.

In Europe, TVN in Poland secured licensing rights for the award-winning documentary It Happened Here, while Stream TV in Russia acquired the first and second seasons of Mike Holmes’ lifestyle series Holmes Inspection and the first two seasons of HGTV’s Top Ten. AB Groupe in France picked up Justice for MLK: The Hunt for James Earl Ray. Ceska Televize in the Czech Republic went for The Space Shuttle: Flying For Me. Meanwhile, the hour-long 9/11 anniversary doc For the Love of Their Brother was picked up by Sky Italia in Italy, TV Polska in Poland and Al Arabiya in the Middle East.

In Africa, pay-TV group Wananchi picked up several titles for its Zuku Channels. These include Secret Life Of…, the second season of Naked Archaeologist, the documentary Dads, Last Car Standing, Redemption Inc. and 7 Days in Hell.

“Proper Rights has carved out a niche in the international unscripted market with both Proper Television-produced series and content from third-party producers,” said Natalie Vinet, the VP of international distribution. “We are launching several brand-new series in the coming months, and we look forward to watching them take off.”
