Silverlining Rights has secured more than 14 international funding partners to co-produce Blink Films’ My King Charles.

The new documentary provides unprecedented insight into the new king and his early years in the palace, troubled first marriage, recent royal troubles and the future he now faces through interviews with former girlfriends, close school friends, relatives and former members of his private staff.

The feature also includes never-before-seen letters and photographs to provide an intimate portrait of the new king.

My King Charles’ funding partners include Channel Nine (Australia), TVNZ, RTL Deutschland, RTL (Netherlands), TV2 (Denmark), Discovery (Italy), Movistar+ (Spain), DPG (Belgium), TVI-CNN (Portugal), ServusTV (Austria), Česká televize (Czech Republic), and Hot8 (Israel). The documentary will also stream on a major U.S. platform.

Bethan Corney, founder and managing director of Silverlining, said: “My King Charles is the first and only profile of Charles told by those close to him, with many of the contributors talking for the first time—from those who shared a classroom to girlfriends, and from lifelong friends and relatives to long-standing personal staff. Together they paint a uniquely intimate picture of the real man behind the crown, and I’m delighted it’s proving such a hit with buyers.”

Dan Chambers, creative director of Blink Films, added: “Silverlining’s partnership from discussing our initial idea through to jointly funding the development was instrumental to us getting key contributors on board, presales secured and the program into production. We are thrilled that audiences around the world will be able to watch our documentary on such a great mix of high profile, streamers and broadcasters.”
