Doc Florence 66 Marks Anniversary of Disaster

MILAN: Sky Arte is premiering the documentary Florence 66: After the Flood (Firenze 66: Dopo l’alluvione) to mark the 50th anniversary of the fatal flood in Florence.

Two screenings of the documentary, organized by Sky Italia in collaboration with Toscana Film Commission, will take place today, November 4, simultaneously in Palazzo Vecchio and Cinema Teatro della Compagnia. Sky Arte is premiering the program on the occasion of the official celebrations, with the President of the Republic in attendance. In addition, the three-part documentary will air on Sky Arte HD on November 5.

Produced by Alkermes along with Sky Arte HD, and directed by Florentine Enrico Pacciani, the documentary will also be distributed to schools in Florence and the province of the city in collaboration with MIUR (Italian Minister of Education, University and Research) and Fondazione Cassa Risparmio di Firenze.

The documentary was made with a contribution from Fondazione Cassa Risparmio di Firenze, in collaboration with the Archivio del Festival dei Popoli and within the project Sensi Contemporanei per il Cinema.
