LONDON: DRG has secured several deals for its catalogue of factual-entertainment programming from Swedish producer Strix TV, including renewals for the format The Farm.

The Farm was renewed by Romania’s Pro TV, Slovenia’s Planet TV and Slovakian TV network Markiza. The ninth season of the show is currently airing in Brazil on Rede Record, and the title has been recommissioned for a second season in Bulgaria by Btv, as well as by Hungary’s RTL Klub. It was also recently renewed in Croatia by Nova and in Serbia by Pink TV.

In addition to deals for The Farm, DRG has negotiated sales for other Strix TV titles, including Internet Troll Hunters, which has been licensed by Atresmedia in Spain. Atresmedia also picked up Floor Filler. Meanwhile, RTL in the Netherlands has renewed Internet Troll Hunters for a second season. The competitive reality show Anno from Strix Norway has been acquired by Planet TV in Slovenia and RTL in Croatia.

Adam Barth, DRG’s senior sales manager, said: “These programs have already enjoyed huge success in several countries, with The Farm in particular proving to be a very successful format internationally. We are committed to staying on top of global trends, and know that the factual-entertainment genre is one that transcends many nationalities. We’re confident that these titles will continue to entertain audiences around the world.”

Following an investment in 2014, DRG is now part of the Nice Entertainment Group, which also includes Strix TV. Nice Entertainment Group is the holding company for the production and distribution arm of Modern Times Group (MTG).
