discovery+ Orders Chrissy Metz-Hosted Artisan Showdown

discovery+ has greenlit Meet Your Makers Showdown, a new competition series hosted by This Is Us star Chrissy Metz.

In each of the six hour-long episodes, four artisans will complete two challenges that test their creativity, skills and passion for their craft. Inspiration judge LeAnn Rimes will lead fellow judges on a walkthrough among the contestants to delve into their creative process. Craft expert judge Mark Montano will evaluate each maker’s technique and originality. Together with a weekly guest judge who specializes in the featured trade, the three will award $10,000 to the winning artisan.

The range of artistic categories in Meet Your Makers Showdown includes paper art, fluid painting, stained glass, polymer clay, candle making and artisanal soap. The series will be available to stream on discovery+ later this year.
