Former soccer player David Beckham is launching Studio 99, a media company that will develop nonfiction programming and serve as a creative agency for brand partners.

Studio 99 currently has a slate of documentary projects in development across sports, travel, fashion and more, with Beckham set to feature in some of the titles. Through a development agreement with LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Uninterrupted, the studio is co-producing a docuseries on Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer expansion team that Beckham co-owns.

From the creative agency side of the company, Studio 99 will create and execute campaigns across traditional, digital and social media channels. It has already produced branded content for the Otro digital platform and for Beckham’s Haig Club whiskey. The company is set to shoot a series of short films for Sands, a resort partner, and is developing campaigns for brand partners AIA and Safilo. Further, it will produce and manage all content creation for Beckham’s social media channels.

Beckham co-founded Studio 99 with David Gardner and Nicola Howson. WME will represent the London-based company.
