Critical Content has tapped Katie Hash as senior VP of development, alongside more changes to its creative team.

With more than 15 years of industry experience, Hash most recently headed the development team at Dorsey Pictures. There, she developed and sold numerous projects to ABC, Bravo, Discovery, HGTV, USA, TV One and Nat Geo WILD and executive produced Oxygen’s hit franchise Accident, Suicide or Murder.

Matthew Pickel has been promoted to senior VP of development and current, and Ryan Lash has been hired as director of development. Hash, Pickel and Lash will all report directly to Rob Lobl, executive VP of development.

Previously, Pickel served as creative director for Critical where he worked across a range of programming that included Buy My House (Netflix), Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane (USA) and #1 Chicken (YouTube). Prior, he served as creative director at T Group Productions, amassing over a dozen co-executive producer credits.

Lash joins Critical from Gunpowder & Sky. There, she developed projects for a variety of cable networks and streamers, including The Notorious B.I.G. Sky’s The Limit: A VR Concert Experience (Meta Quest), Paramount Plus’s music docuseries Sometimes When We Touch and I Wanna Rock: The 80s Metal Dream and Max’s documentary Call Me Miss Cleo.

“As we continue to enhance our content pipeline, we’re assembling key players on our team with strengths in varying arenas,” said Jenny Daly, president of Critical Content. “This ensures a diverse and distinctive approach to crafting our projects, ultimately reinforcing the high quality of our content.

“Katie, Matt and Ryan all bring with them extensive work experience and outstanding reputations as content creators.”
