LONDON: Cineflix Rights has placed a LEGO documentary with several international broadcasters and has also acquired a follow-up holiday special.

Cineflix Rights has presold the hour-long documentary The Secret World of LEGO to TV2 in Denmark, TV5 in Finland and NRK in Norway. The program also went to more than 16 other countries through sales to National Geographic Channel in the U.S., Foxtel in Australia, RTL in the Netherlands, Discovery Sweden, Discovery Poland and Television New Zealand (TVNZ), among others. The documentary takes viewers inside the LEGO headquarters to meet the designers who develop LEGO products, and also follows two adult fans who dream of transforming their passion for the brand into cash.

Additionally, Cineflix Rights has secured a follow-up holiday special, The Christmas World of LEGO, from producer Waddell Media. The special is set to air later this year on Channel 4 in the U.K.

The Secret World of LEGO is proving to be hugely successful with broadcasters worldwide because it’s about a global super brand everybody knows and reveals a hidden world viewers rarely get to see,” said Chris Bonney, the CEO of Rights at Cineflix Media. “It’s entertaining, informative and works for a range of different international audiences from young to old as well as male and female—exactly what our buyers are looking for.”
