Gilly Greenslade is joining Channel 4 as commissioning editor for factual entertainment.

Greenslade will be reporting to Kelly Webb-Lamb, Channel 4’s head of factual entertainment. Previously, Greenslade joined Simon Dickson and Lorraine Charker-Phillip’s Label1 in January 2016 as a development executive, before going on to series produce BBC Two’s Hospital. She is currently series producing the second season.

Webb-Lamb said: “Gilly is rare in having the breadth of experience we need in factual entertainment. She has a wicked sense of humor and an instinctive feel for a cracking story. She has dedicated her career to making programs that entertain whilst offering a commentary on the world around us, and we are really lucky that she is bringing her passion for the genre to the channel.”

Greenslade said: “Working alongside Simon and Lorraine has been an incredible experience and while I’m sad to be leaving at such an exciting time for Label1, I am delighted to be joining Kelly and the factual entertainment team at Channel 4. I absolutely love the sort of smart, warm, revealing formats that Channel 4 has always been at the forefront of innovating. The chance to work on much-loved existing series, and to commission the next wave of ambitious formats, is simply irresistible.”
