CBS Reality, which is owned by CBS Studios International and AMC Networks International—UK, is due to debut the new original documentary series The Jury Room next month.

The Jury Room sees 12 jurors re-examine real murder cases in which convicted killers claim to be innocent. Ex-detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton represents the prosecution and barrister Matt Stanbury speaks for the defense, while crime reporter Will Hanrahan helps the jury and viewers to understand the cases. The 6×60-minute show is produced for CBS Reality by FirstLookTV and will premiere on May 28 at 10 p.m.

The Jury Room was created by broadcast journalist and presenter Will Hanrahan and Sam Rowden, the director of programming at AMC Networks International—UK. Hanrahan and Rowden also serve as executive producers.

Rowden said: “The Jury Room offers an innovative approach to the ever-popular genre of crime documentary as it invites the viewer to witness the secret world of the jury room and to ultimately cast their own verdict along with the CBS Reality jurors.”

FirstLookTV’s Hanrahan added: “The cases we have chosen for The Jury Room feature prisoners convicted of murder who have brought new evidence which is credible enough to be considered by an appeal court. What will our CBS Reality jury think of that new evidence? Will they find the ‘killer’ guilty again?”
