CBS Reality Commissions Two New Original True-Crime Series

CBS Reality is set to launch two new exclusive original commissions—The Real Prime Suspect and The Profiler—later this year.

Led by Jackie Malton, the inspiration for Helen Mirren’s character in the drama series Prime Suspect, The Real Prime Suspect is a 10-part true-crime docuseries. Throughout the program, Malton, a former Met police officer and the first female member of the Flying Squad, uses her list of contacts to revisit investigations with the law enforcement officials who experienced them firsthand. The Real Prime Suspect is set to premiere on CBS Reality in the U.K. in the fall, followed by premieres on the network in Poland and Africa later this year. The show is produced by Monster Films and distributed by Orange Smarty, which has secured global rights to the series worldwide, excluding the U.K., Africa and Poland.

The first CBS Reality Original production to be exclusively based and produced in Poland and in the Polish language is Zawód: Profiler (The Profiler). Led by Polish criminal profiler Jan Gołębiowski, the ten-parter takes an in-depth look at his profession and the role that profilers’ findings play in investigations and convictions. Each episode will feature a different Polish case, with each new fact or piece of evidence leading to another incorrect theory being eliminated until the profiler comes to the right conclusion. The Profiler, produced by Like Vision, will premiere on CBS Reality in Poland on June 3, at 10 p.m.
