BossaNova Media has closed deals across Europe and North America for the Patrol franchise, from CJZ Group’s Greenstone TV in New Zealand.

Germany’s ProSieben has licensed seasons 13 and 15 of Motorway Patrol and has also relicensed seasons 16 and 17 of the show, which offers a view of the happenings on Auckland’s motorway network and the officers who deal with its crashes and high-speed incidents.

Discovery in Germany has picked up three seasons totaling 15 hours of Highway Patrol. Now in its 11th season, the series follows the Australian police officers tasked with keeping Victoria’s roads safe.

Bell Media in Canada has picked up season 12 of Border Patrol, which follows the women, men and animals on the front line of New Zealand’s border security. Additionally, Dutch media group Talpa has acquired seasons 10 and 12 of the series.

The Patrol franchise, which also includes Dog Patrol and the spin-off series Dog Patrol: Puppy School, was added to CJZ’s catalog when it acquired Greenstone in 2014.

Paul Heaney, CEO of BossaNova Media, said: “Greenstone’s Patrol franchise is a gift that keeps on giving—and not just to the broadcasters around the world who continue to buy these proven bankers, but to the audiences around the world who continue to love watching them. We acquired the CJZ catalog this time last year, just as BossaNova was revving up its engines. As a company, we’re now pulling out into the fast lane—and these ratings-busting titles have definitely helped us to get there.”

BossaNova has also unveiled its MIPTV 2022 lineup, which includes 15 new titles. Among the slate highlights is another CJZ show, Armed and Dangerous, which tells the inside story of Australia’s epidemic of bank jobs, prison breakouts and heists from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Extreme Tow Truckers, from Fredbird Entertainment, follows tow-trucking companies in Australia as they battle it out to secure and complete their lucrative and dangerous jobs. Noble Television’s The Big Sex Talk, fronted by sex educator Shan Boodram, unpacks modern notions of sexuality, debunks myths and explores such things as sex robots and polyamory.

Hindenburg: The Cover Up, meanwhile, takes viewers inside the crash of the largest-ever airship and into the theories surrounding its downfall. A family series, Take Me Home follows the stories of lost, forgotten and unwanted dogs in an outback mining town in Australia.
