Blue Ant International Notches Up Deals Across CEE

Blue Ant International has sold more than 350 hours of programming, including Secret Life of the Koala, across Central and Eastern Europe.

Russia’s First HDTV did a volume deal for more than 135 hours from Blue Ant International’s catalog, including taking on 60-plus hours of natural-history programming. This includes Kitty 911, Hope for Wildlife, Strange Creatures seasons one and two, Wildlife Icons seasons one and two and The Big Feed. First HDTV also secured a lineup programming from Blue Ant’s factual-entertainment and kids and family categories, including Taste of the Country, Wild Ride and Make It Big, Make It Small.

ITI Neovision in Poland acquired a 50-hour package of natural-history programming for its channels Planete+ and Canal+. The programming includes Rooted, Africa’s Claws and Jaws, Over Australia, Untamed ValleyLife’s Journey, Arabian Inferno and Macro Worlds.

Also in Poland, TVN licensed around 30 hours, including the Blue Ant Media-produced Crazy Beautiful Weddings. Also part of the package are I’ve Got Something To Tell You, Boomtown Asia and Man Made Marvels: Asia.

FTV Prima in the Czech Republic scooped up 60-plus hours of content across several categories. In the way of docs, the broadcaster went for The Mind of Mark DeFriest. In factual entertainment, FTV Prima took on America Over the Edge and seasons one and two of The Weapon Hunter. Nature and wildlife programming was included as well, with titles such as Africa’s Underwater Wonders and Tales from Zambia.

AMC Networks International licensed a package for its networks in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This includes Fish of the Day, What’s For Sale With a View? and Jago: A Life Underwater, along with Secret Life of the Kangaroo, Secret Life of the Koala, Secret Life of the Tasmanian Devil and Secret Life of the Wombat.

A range of female-skewed lifestyle programming went to Polsat Cafe in Poland and TV2 in Hungary. Polsat Cafe opted for a 25-plus hour package that includes Candice Tells All season six, Post My Party, Holiday Makeover and select episodes from Celebrity Legacies and Celebrity Damage Control. TV2 took on 25 hours, which includes Post My Party, Holiday Makeover and Taste of the Country. Wheels That Fail was also picked up by TV2.

Beaver TV in Russia acquired two lifestyle series from designer Sarah Richardson’s franchise: Sarah Off the Grid and Sarah’s Real Potential season one.

Also in Russia, United Media purchased a number of nature and wildlife titles, including Animal Empires, Camp Zambia’s The Big Dry and Secret Life of the Koala.

Alongside package deals, Blue Ant International scored a number of single-title sales with broadcasters from the CEE region. Travel and Adventure in Russia snapped up Bad Trip. Sold via Synchrony Media, MATCH TV in Russia went for Goalie: Life and Death in the Crease. X-Weighted Families was purchased by WP in Poland. In Slovenia, RTV bagged The Secret History of Knitting.
