Plimsoll Productions has acquired Jobim Sampson’s Bearhug TV, with Sampson becoming creative director of Plimsoll Wales.

In his new position, Sampson will develop and produce unscripted programming with a concentration on specialist factual series in the U.K. He will work out of Cardiff under James Smith, the head of Plimsoll Wales.

Sampson previously worked with Plimsoll as an exec producer on Bringing Home Baby for BBC Wales. Throughout his career, he has executive produced for a number of non-scripted channels in the U.S. and U.K.

Andrew Jackson, the president of international production for Plimsoll, remarked: “Plimsoll is committed to building the Welsh office and we’re thrilled to have Jobim join us. Not only does he have an excellent track record but he also knows the Welsh TV talent; his experience will be invaluable to us in Wales.”

Sampson added: “I’m delighted to be joining Plimsoll, helping to spearhead their Welsh office. This feels like a new beginning, with an exciting company committed to building more production in Wales.”
