BBC Wales has ordered Bringing Home Baby, a factual series focused on the ups and downs of becoming first-time parents, from Plimsoll Productions’ newly launched Plimsoll Wales.

Bringing Home Baby will follow the lives of six infants and their parents through their first six months together. The 4×60-minute show is being executive produced by Jobim Sampson, James Smith, Amy Joyce and Karen Plumb for Plimsoll. It is slated for broadcast on BBC Wales in 2018.

“New parenthood is both exhilarating and scary,” said James Smith, the head of Plimsoll Wales. “With such a steep learning curve, it’s the perfect subject for an entertaining and educational series.”

Nick Andrews, the head of commissioning and editor for BBC Wales, added: “The first few months of a child’s life are amazing and this series will capture those unforgettable moments. Plimsoll’s access-all-areas production will give our audience on BBC One Wales a unique perspective into these little lives and their new families. It’s going to be extraordinary.”
