BBC One has commissioned two additional seasons of Twofour’s daytime series Dom on the Spot.

Each season of the show, fronted by Dom Littlewood, will consist of ten 45-minute episodes. Littlewood will accompany law enforcement officials as they fine fare dodgers, road tax evaders and others. He will explore why the fines are given out and why people break the law. He will also speak with the victims who are impacted by these types of crimes.

The series was commissioned by Dan McGolpin, BBC’s controller of daytime and programming, and Lindsay Bradbury, the commissioning editor for daytime and early peak. Dom on the Spot is executive produced by Rachel Innes-Lumsden.

Melanie Leach, the chief executive of Twofour Group, said, “We’re delighted to receive a bumper order for Dom on the Spot, a series that shines a light on a territory that affects every single one of us. Dan McGolpin, BBC controller of daytime and programming, and his team consistently push the boundaries of daytime in their quest for prime-time storytelling and the resulting audience share speaks for itself.”

Bradbury added, “Dom on the Spot has hit a real nerve with the daytime audience as it lifts the lid on the world of fines. Together with a strong sense of resolution and Dom’s fantastic warmth and wit, the series has become a real hit.”
