BBC Earth FAST Channel Launches in the U.S.

BBC Studios has launched its 12th FAST channel, BBC Earth, on Amazon Freevee and Plex in the U.S.

Just in time for Earth Day, the new channel brings more than 450 hours of BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit’s wildlife programming to Freevee and Plex users. The programs available on the channel include six of Sir David Attenborough’s specials, Expedition Borneo, Deadly 60 and many more.

Among the Attenborough-presented series available on the channel are Elephants: Spy in the Herd and Gorillas: On the Trail of King Kong. Expedition Borneo explores the remote tribes that survive in Borneo’s steep mountains, deep gorges and high plateaus. Deadly 60 sees Steve Backshall find creatures that others try to avoid, including tiger sharks, giant centipedes, funnel web spiders, golden poison frogs and more.

Additional programs available via the BBC Earth channel are Galapagos, Ganges, Wild Africa and Wild Australasia. Galapagos explores the islands that served as inspiration behind Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, while Ganges tells the story of the Ganges River. Wild Africa and Wild Australasia delves into the wilderness of the titular regions.

Beth Anderson, general manager and senior VP of FAST channels for North America and Latin America at BBC Studios, said: “We’re delighted to launch BBC Earth as a FAST channel. With availability on Amazon Freevee and Plex, U.S. audiences can now enjoy BBC Studios’ deep catalog of award-winning natural history programming, all editorially, personally curated and available for free.
