Channel 4 has commissioned How to Save a Grand in 24 Hours, a new consumer series to help viewers save money in all aspects of their lives, presented by journalist Anna Richardson and produced by Avalon.

In the series, Richardson will be joined by a crack team to show cash-strapped families how to reduce their outgoings during an unpredictable financial period. Each episode of How to Save a Grand in 24 Hours will center on a different family in need of a 360-degree financial makeover. Together, Richardson and a trio of experts will use their skills to perform a money-saving pincer-movement on every area of the families’ lives.

Joining Richardson in helping the families cut costs will be chef Gary Usher, who will show them how to create affordable, tasty food on a budget. Builder and decorator Eve Humphreys will demonstrate how to get creative and complete a variety of DIY jobs, and Instagram ‘cleanfluencer’ and professional organizer Peachy Clean will offer tips on cost-efficient household chores and organizing hacks. As the team reveals how to reduce everyday spending and the savings mount up, the clock counts down as they show how it’s possible to save £1,000 in 24 hours.

Clemency Green, commissioning editor for features and formats at Channel 4, said: “I’m so excited to be bringing this brilliant gang together. They’re a crack team who will really help people wrangle their finances and learn some amazing new skills; I can’t wait to see them in action.”
