Pulse BRITDOC Genesis Fund Unveils New Grantees

LONDON: Pulse Films and BRITDOC have revealed seven new international recipients of the Pulse BRITDOC Genesis Fund, which promotes original nonfiction cinema.

The fund provides a first commitment to filmmakers to help them move forward with nonfiction concepts so they can experiment with form and find additional funding. The seven £5,000 ($6,624) grants are awarded to Aleph by Iva Radivojevic (Serbia), Becoming Animal by Emma Davie and Peter Mettler (Scotland/Canada), Crater by Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino (Italy), The Evidence of Things Not Seen by Ja’Tovia Gary (U.S.), Place of Omnipresence by Zhao Liang (China), Riotsville by Sierra Pettengill (U.S.), and Shirkers by Sandi Tan (Singapore).

Awardee Rebecca Day, producer of Becoming Animal, said, “This has come at a crucial stage of development for us. With this funding we will be able to cut together a funding trailer to move the project forward into production.”
