LONDON: Pulse Films has been commissioned by BBC Three to produce the hour-long documentary United States of Hate: Muslims Under Attack, which explores tensions between different factions in America.

The one-off doc centers on Irving, Texas, with unique access to anti-Islamist groups Bomb Islam and BAIR (Bureau for American Islamic Relations), one of the most extreme anti-Muslim groups in America. The film also follows Muslim students to learn about their experiences of living in Texas and Imam Omar Suleiman to get an understanding of how prevalent extremism is in his mosque in Texas as well as American Muslims with extremist views.

Emma Cooper, creative director of unscripted TV at Pulse Films, commented: “United States of Hate investigates Islamophobia and the tensions between communities which seem to be on the increase in America. Irving serves as an example of the anxieties that can be seen elsewhere across the world—and we aim to add to the important conversations being had about religion and attitudes within our communities. We are proud to be partnering with the BBC to create socially relevant, resonant documentary content.”
