Rogan Productions Promotes for Unscripted Development Role

Rogan Productions has promoted Merle Currie to the newly created role of head of unscripted development to drive the expansion of its factual slate.

Currie, who joined Rogan Productions in April 2025, brings a strong track record in factual, having held executive producer roles across development and production at Firecrest Films and Label1 and working on Hospital, Worlds Collide: The Manchester Bombing, Monkman and Seagull’s Genius Guide to Britain and more.

Currie will now oversee all unscripted development activity across the business, shaping Rogan’s future slate and supporting its increasing volume of commissions.

“I’m delighted to be continuing my work at Rogan Productions during such an exciting time of strategic growth for the company, whose values and quality I have long admired,” Currie said. “I’m looking forward to working with the team on developing a new slate of bold ideas that resonate with audiences in the U.K. and globally.”

James Rogan, creative director, added, “Despite a challenging industry landscape, the business has continued to grow and deliver standout films for broadcasters and platforms around the world. That success has moved us into a new space in the market and significantly increased demand for our development output. Merle has dazzled us with the quality of her ideas and her passion for expansion into new genres. Her appointment ensures we have the leadership in place to build the next phase of Rogan’s slate.”
