Blink Films Begins Production on Hitler’s DNA for Channel 4

Blink Films has begun production on Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator, investigating what DNA may reveal about the 20th century’s most notorious figure, for Channel 4.

Represented by ITV Studios, the two-part series sees geneticist Dr. Turi King and World War II historian Dr. Alex Kay work with an assortment of health professionals, behavior experts and other scientists to decode and analyze the genetic makeup of Hitler.

“Nothing can ever fully explain Adolf Hitler’s evil,” said Jonah Weston, commissioning editor at Channel 4. “But finding Hitler’s DNA is an incredible feat of scientific detective work and gives unprecedented insights into history’s most studied man.”

Dan Chambers, creative director of Blink Films, added, “For 80 years, there has been lots of speculation about Hitler’s medical and psychiatric conditions. Now, by looking into his DNA for the first time in history, we’re able to reveal a whole series of things—some that we might have expected, others that are really surprising.”

The series is directed by James Routh and produced by Zoé Wiggins. Chambers is an executive producer alongside Nina Davies.

Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator will premiere on Channel 4 in the U.K. later this fall.
