PBS Distribution Lands Sales on Blink Films Titles

PBS Distribution has notched up deals on Ultimate Crash Test and Terror on the Space Station ahead of MIPCOM.

The two productions are made in co-production with the U.K.’s Blink Films, an alliance that previously resulted in Concorde: The Untold Story, Chernobyl: New Evidence and Easter Island Origins.

Ultimate Crash Test is a NOVA production by Blink Films for GBH in association with Channel 4 and WELT. It has been licensed to Channel 8 (Israel), NRK (Norway) and 7 Network (Australia). Terror on the Space Station, a NOVA production for GBH in association with France Télévisions, has been acquired by SBS (Australia), Red Bull Media House (Austria), RTL (Luxembourg), RTI (Italy), SVT (Sweden), Yle (Finland) and TVN24 (Poland).

“These titles reflect what makes our partnership so successful: bold ideas, rigorous storytelling, and relevance to global audiences,” said Tracy Beckett, commissioning editor at PBS Distribution. “We’re proud to see these programs already making an impact across multiple territories.”

Dan Chambers, creative director at Blink Films, added: “PBS Distribution is a fantastic partner for Blink as we work together to produce and deliver content which meets the increasing appetite among global broadcasters for premium, high-stakes factual content that combines scientific innovation and human drama. We’re delighted with these recent sales and are currently developing several ambitious projects with PBS, which we think will be equally successful with international buyers.”
