Volume Order for Bangers & Cash at UKTV

UKTV has recommissioned four more seasons each of Bangers & Cash and the spin-off sister show, Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics.

The 72-episode order for U&YESTERDAY and streamer U surpasses all previous UKTV commissions in terms of number of hours and episodes. The order means both shows remain on the UKTV services through 2028.

“In the current broadcast market, commissions of this size are as rare as a well-preserved barn find,” said Tracy-Jean, commissioning executive for factual and factual entertainment at UKTV. “We wanted to demonstrate how highly we value Air TV, the Mathewsons and our loyal audience by locking down these valuable modern classics.”

Produced by Air TV, Bangers & Cash follows the work of the family-run classic car auction house, Mathewsons, based in North Yorkshire. Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics sees the Bangers production team demonstrate how difficult it can be to make money buying, restoring and selling classic cars.

Executive producers for Air TV are Andy Joynson and Morland Sanders. The series producer on Bangers & Cash is Gregor Stewart and the series producer for Restoring Classics is Holly Pywell.

“A simple idea, a great family of auctioneers, much-loved classics and a lot of fun,” commented Joynson. “UKTV have been so supportive and have allowed the program to be what the audience wants, and this record order is the result. The whole production team is so proud of what we have collectively achieved. Roll on episode 200!”

Adam Collings, director of programming for factual and factual entertainment at UKTV, added: “Since April 2019, Bangers & Cash has been delighting those that know their Austins from the ACs, their fast Fords from their Ferraris and who take delight in the finding and onward journeys of a vast array of motors. I’m delighted to say that thanks to the audience, the Mathewsons and the wonderful job that Air TV do, there’s plenty left in the Bangers tank yet.”
