Cineflix Rights Secures New Iberian & Italian Deals

Cineflix Rights has closed a raft of sales for its factual slate to broadcasters and streamers in Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Vanished History, a ten-part series from Shark Teeth Films that takes an investigative approach to exploring some of the most enigmatic mysteries in history, was picked up by Dmax Spain and Mediaset Italy.

Mediaset Italy also acquired Shark Teeth Films’ Mysterious Islands, exploring the most extraordinary and enigmatic islands on the planet; Go Button Media’s Alien Corridors, an investigative series examining the world’s hotspots of intergalactic visitation; and Finestripe Productions’ The Day Hitler Died, telling the story of Adolf Hitler’s final hours.

Spain’s Movistar+ licensed Pernel Media’s Vikings: The Empire of the North Sea, chronicling the rise and fall of the first and only Viking empire, and Pernel Media’s Alexander the Great: Legendary Conqueror, showcasing the exploits of one of history’s greatest military leaders.

In Portugal, SIC added Building Bad to its lineup. From Shark Teeth Films, Building Bad combines engineering, science and crime to reveal the ingenuity of enterprising criminals who walked the dark side of scientific invention.

AMC Multicanal Iberia signed a deal for Chalkboard TV and GroupM Motion Entertainment’s travel show Sue Perkins into Alaska, following the U.K. comedian and TV presenter on an adventure in Alaska.

Italy’s Rai picked up White Spark Pictures’ Impossible Planet, taking viewers on a journey around the globe to discover just how strange the world can be.

“We’re seeing exceptional demand across Southern Europe for premium factual programming, particularly blue-chip documentaries focused on ancient history and compelling history-mystery series,” said Sabrina Ayala, sales consultant for Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe and French Canada at Cineflix Rights. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see several of our newest titles performing so strongly in these regions.”
