Video Interview: Like Tears in Rain’s Sanna Fabery de Jonge

Known for iconic roles in Blade Runner and Turkish Delight, Dutch actor Rutger Hauer had more than 170 credits to his name before his passing in 2019. The Viaplay documentary Like Tears in Rain delves into his personal archive and shows his creative process in front of and behind the camera. It features candid interviews with Whoopi Goldberg, Mickey Rourke, Robert Rodriguez, Vincent D’Onofrio and Miranda Richardson, as well as Hauer’s wife Ineke and longtime friends.

The documentary is directed by Sanna Fabery de Jonge, Hauer’s goddaughter. Fabery de Jonge takes TV Real Weekly behind the scenes, talking about the use of never-before-seen footage to uncover Hauer’s intimate world.

Like Tears in Rain is now available to view on the Viaplay streaming service in the U.S. and U.K. and is being sold internationally by Viaplay Content Distribution.
