Rhys Darby to Narrate New Wildlife Series

Peacock has ordered Ample Entertainment’s The Hungry Games: Alaska’s Big Bear Challenge, with Rhys Darby (Our Flag Means Death) attached to narrate.

Canada’s Love Nature is co-producing the three-parter, which follows the bears of Alaska’s Katmai National Park as they bulk up for winter hibernation, battling the elements and each other to consume as many calories as possible. Unbeknownst to the bears, their progress is being tracked and ranked.

Blue Ant Studios’ rights division is handling presales internationally.

The series is being prepped on the heels of Ample Entertainment’s recent Emmy-nominated Netflix film Kangaroo Valley. Sarah Snook (Succession) served as narrator, while Sia was in charge of music.
