Plimsoll Promotes for COO, Head of Production

Among a pair of promotions at Plimsoll Productions, Jonathan Jackson has been elevated to chief operating officer.

Jackson joined Plimsoll four years ago as finance and commercial director before he was promoted to chief financial officer. He now adds COO to his title, with oversight for the company’s finance, commercial, postproduction and legal functions.

Previously, Jackson served as COO and was subsequently appointed group managing director at DRG (rebranded as NENT Studios). He has held senior financial roles at BBC Studios and Channel 4 and consulted for Ingenious Media.

Additionally, Lucy Bilson has been promoted to head of production. Bilson will supervise the company’s output and negotiate deals with a wide array of networks and streamers. She began her tenure at Plimsoll as production manager and was promoted to production executive and operated across the company’s multifaceted portfolio.

Prior to Plimsoll, Bilson was a production manager with several credits to her name, including Secrets of the Dead: Cleopatra’s Lost Tomb (PBS) and Gordon Ramsay’s F Word (Channel 4).

Grant Mansfield, CEO of Plimsoll Productions, said: “Jonathan and Lucy have truly earned their promotions after both making outstanding contributions to Plimsoll’s success story over many years. They combine acute commercial instincts with the ability to work collaboratively and supportively with our brilliant creatives.”

Jackson continues to report directly to Mansfield. Bilson will report to Jackson.
