Global Screen to Co-Produce Munich ’72 Docuseries

The Telepool brand Global Screen has partnered with Tadmor Entertainment and Channel 8 to co-produce the three-part documentary series Munich ’72.

The docuseries tells the story of a group of terrorists known as Black September, who stormed the Olympic Village at the Munich games in 1972. Also available as a 90-minute theatrical film, Munich ’72 presents a close-up and dramatic representation of the atrocity and the failure of a rescue operation that resulted in the deaths of 11 Israeli Olympic team members.

Directed by Israeli director, writer and editor Roman Shumunov (Back to Chernobyl, Here and Now, Babylon Dreamers) and produced by Israeli TV producer Ronen Machlis-Balzam (Berenshtein), Munich ’72 blends documentary and fiction. Supported by newly declassified protocols, the series reveals conversations from the Israeli cabinet during the crisis and unseen German documents divulging discussions that took place in the German crisis room where the event was managed.
