Blue Ant International Takes Rights to Search and Rescue: North Shore

Blue Ant International has acquired the international rights to the five-part docuseries Search and Rescue: North Shore.

The series gives audiences front-line access to the heroic and daring rescue missions of an elite volunteer rescue squad as they find and save people in distress among the mountains, canyons and forests of the Northwest Coast of North America. Through the lens of real rescues, viewers get to know some of the people who dedicate their time to saving lives. Produced by Peg Leg Films in association with British Columbia’s Knowledge Network, Search and Rescue: North Shore is available for international licensing via Blue Ant International.

Shot over a full year by a camera crew embedded with the team, the episodes feature cinematography that immerses audiences in the high stakes involved in rescuing stranded hikers, locating children lost in the dark, bringing injured mountain bikers to safety and searching for snowshoers dragged down a mountain by an avalanche. Along the way, viewers get to know members of the team.

Solange Attwood, executive VP of Blue Ant International, said: “Search and Rescue: North Shore takes viewers on exhilarating, high stakes and emotional missions that shine a spotlight on a gutsy group of volunteer rescuers and the courageous lengths they take to save their fellow citizens in peril. Audiences around the globe will be inspired by the human stories amid the strikingly beautiful, yet dangerous environment.”

Grant Baldwin, director and DOP at Peg Leg Films, said: “People are surprised by how intimate the series is; you really feel like you’re part of the team. It has the mystery of unsolved missing-person cases and the excitement of long-line helicopter rescues. Blue Ant International is an experienced partner to bring these human stories of courage to platforms around the world.”
