Peabody & FX Partner for Special

Peabody and FX have joined forces for Peabody Presents: Stories of the Year, a documentary-style television special featuring a roundtable discussion with recent Peabody Award winners moderated by comedian Hasan Minhaj.

The special is slated for a summer premiere on FX. The discussion will center around today’s pressing social issues, including race, the LGBTQ experience, rape culture and multicultural representation in the media landscape. It will also feature footage from the 78th Annual Peabody Awards ceremony, taking place Saturday, May 18 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.

Minhaj, a two-time Peabody winner for Homecoming King and Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, will be joined by various participants who have worked on Peabody-winning shows, including Steven Canals, co-creator, executive producer and writer of the FX series Pose; Paula Lavigne, ESPN investigative reporter for Spartan Silence: Crisis at Michigan State; Terence Nance, filmmaker and creator of Random Acts of Flyness on HBO; and Tracy Heather Strain, director/writer of the PBS/WNET documentary Lorraine Hansberry: Sighted Eyes/Feeling Heart.

The program will be produced for FX by Den of Thieves, with executive producers Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager and Chris Chounand, and co-executive producer Jeff Roe.
