9/11: The Twenty-Year Anniversary Doc Lands Presales

Discovery in the U.S. and Canal+ in France are among the broadcasters that have signed on for the new BBC One documentary 9/11: The Twenty-Year Anniversary (w/t).

Keshet International (KI) secured a round of presales for the feature-length doc, produced by Top Hat Productions. Alongside the U.S. and France, deals have been closed in Denmark (TV2), Sweden (TV4) and the Netherlands (RTL).

Directed by BAFTA-Award winner Arthur Cary (The Last Survivors, War in the Blood), 9/11: The Twenty-Year Anniversary (w/t) will be a landmark retelling of how terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and Flight 93 20 years ago changed the world forever.

Keren Shahar, KI’s COO and president of distribution, said, “Two decades may have passed, but the events of 9/11 still live on for millions of people who saw this tragedy unfold live on their TV screens. We are honored to be able to make this thoughtful and prestigious documentary available to buyers all over the world and help mark this important anniversary with their viewers.”

Christine Cauquelin, executive VP of documentary and factual for the Canal+ Group and head of documentary TV channels, commented, “The events of 9/11 are still felt today around the globe and securing this landmark documentary for our viewers means we can acknowledge this moment in history with a fitting tribute to those who’s lives were changed forever.”
