5 Introduces Love Nature Initiative

5 has launched the initiative Love Nature, with the aim of creating multiple short films spotlighting positive environmental stories from across the U.K.

Each film, approximately three minutes long, will showcase inspiring campaigns and grassroots efforts within local communities that are supporting and protecting nature. To ensure the initiative reflects the full breadth of the U.K., each member of the 5 commissioning team will take responsibility for spotlighting a specific nation or region in partnership with a local production company.

The nations and regions will be Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, along with four areas of England—the North, the Midlands, the South East and the South West.

The new Love Nature films will air every evening at 6 p.m. throughout January 2026.

Love Nature was partly inspired by the success of 5’s recent series The Secret Life of Bees and The Secret Life of Trees. The initiative also builds on 5’s Everyday Sustainability editorial approach, which aims to inspire, encourage and support viewers to live more sustainable lives by integrating positive environmental themes seamlessly across the entire programming schedule.

“Our new initiative, Love Nature, will bring 5 viewers uplifting, real-world stories that show how people across the U.K. are making a positive difference in the fight against the climate crisis,” said Ben Frow, chief content officer. “I hope these films shine a light on the everyday heroes who are helping nature thrive and inspire, encourage and educate our audiences on the issues surrounding climate change. I couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with production companies across the regions to bring these powerful climate stories to 5.”
