Elliot Reed’s Good TV Lands New 5 Commissions

Elliot Reed’s Good TV has been commissioned by 5 in the U.K. to produce three new episodes about high-profile trials.

Each 90-minute documentary of The Trial will feature insights from prosecution and defense barristers, courtroom reporters, witnesses and more. The Trial of Diana’s Royal Butler and The Trial of Fergie’s Dresser, both commissioned by Daniel Louw, 5’s director of creative strategy, will air later this year.

Good TV is also making the two-hour special Prince Andrew: On Trial, examining what would happen if he were put on trial.

“It’s the first time since the 17th century that a royal is on trial in England,” said Elliot Reed, executive producer of Good TV. “The defendant Prince Andrew may not be charged with an offence, but two of the most eminent barristers in the U.K. battle it out in a courtroom for real, for and against the Queen’s second son. It’s a bold, unique experiment, a seamless blend of the real and the unreal.”
