Veteran development executive and producer Patrick Agans has been named president of 3BMG’s flagship label 3 Ball Productions.

Agans boards the company after serving for a decade at Big Brother producer Fly on the Wall Entertainment, where he headed development as executive VP. After joining the company in 2014, he created, developed, sold and executive produced dozens of unscripted series, live events and specials, including FOX’s Crime Scene Kitchen, HGTV’s Flip or Flop Atlanta and more.

3 Ball Productions has generated several unscripted hits such as The Biggest Loser, Extreme Weight Loss, Beauty and the Geek, Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend and Bar Rescue, currently in its 13th year of production.

“At a time when many companies are looking to downsize and consolidate, we see huge advantage in securing Patrick to grow 3 Ball Productions,” said 3BMG’s CEO, Ross Weintraub. “His superpower is pairing his creative expertise developing across genres with a buyer and platform-specific approach that reflects where the market is headed.”

Agans said, “I’ve long admired 3 Ball’s massive contributions to unscripted, and this is an amazing opportunity to build upon that legacy with big, global entertainment formats, character-driven docuseries and lifestyle content. I’m eager to hit the ground running and take our creative out to the marketplace.”

Reinout Oerlemans, chairman at 3BMG, added, “As I look back at nearly 20 years with 3 Ball, the company’s roots in ‘transformational TV’ remain as relevant as ever to audiences and commissioners around the world. We’re thrilled that Patrick will pick up the torch and help define the 3 Ball brand for a new era.”
