Turner EMEA has promoted Pierre Branco to the role of senior VP and general manager of Northern Europe and MENAT, expanding his remit to include oversight of the company’s business in the Middle East, Northern Africa, Turkey and Cyprus.

In his new position, Branco will be focused on maximizing all platform growth opportunities for the MENAT brand portfolio—which includes Cartoon Network and Boomerang English, Turkish and Arabic services, TCM and the distribution of CNNI—and improving Turner’s local content strategy. He will take up his expanded role in April, and continue to report directly to Turner EMEA President Giorgio Stock.

Branco, who has served as Turner EMEA’s senior VP and general manager of Northern Europe since 2017, oversaw the reinvigoration of Cartoon Network, the launch of Toonix (Turner’s first SVOD kids OTT service in the Nordic region) and a deal with Channel 4 to launch and build Adult Swim in the U.K. In previous roles, Branco oversaw Turner’s business in France and Africa.

Stock said: “Pierre’s ability to bring fresh impetus and new thinking to our business has been proven across hugely diverse markets. Together with our talented regional management team, he will now help further our vision for Turner in MENAT to deliver outstanding branded destinations to our fans across the region.”
