LOS ANGELES/DUBAI: More than 500 attendees are registered for the inaugural edition of DISCOP Dubai, according to event organizer Basic Lead.

Taking place January 29 to 31 at the Madinat Jumeirah resort in Dubai, the event is set to welcome close to 200 international and regional content suppliers that will be either exhibiting or attending. More than 300 buyers representing broadcasters, cable, satellite, mobile and streaming operators primarily servicing countries from MENA and the Indian Subcontinent are also expected.

DISCOP Dubai is featuring a two-day “deal-building” agenda, with a roster of panel discussions and hands-on workshops. A special focus will be placed on the competitive MENA multiscreen marketplace.

Patrick Zuchowicki, founder of the DISCOP programs, said: “Driven by the tastes, expectations and usage patterns of an extremely young demographic, innovative business models and rapidly rising consumer embracement of pay and satellite television, television content business across MENA and the Indian Subcontinent will rise fast as the driving trends behind these regions’ long-term growth remain the same, despite economic and geopolitical uncertainties.”
