LONDON: Zodiak Kids Studios has secured a development and production agreement with Airside Andy for a new original kids’ property created by Robert Cooper and Peter Le Masurier.

Titled Airside Andy, the multiplatform preschool series follows a lively team of ground-based airport vehicles, led by Andy, the controller of the airport. The series combines CGI animation and digital gaming apps to bring to life the secret world of aviation and to celebrate those who work together to keep passengers moving and planes in the air.

Airside Andy is already live as a digital property with gaming pods in the Manchester and Newcastle airports and is rolling out across Swissport Aspire lounges and others this year. The pods come fully equipped with two to four interactive tablets, child-proofed and fully loaded with the Airside Andy game.

Additionally, Airside Andy has recently launched the Airside Andy massively multiplayer online game (MMO). It is the first-ever children’s MMO to be created exclusively for tablet and mobile, developed by Flying Squirrel Games and Technicolor in conjunction with Airside Andy for children aged 3 to 8.

Jean-Philippe Randisi, the CEO of Zodiak Kids, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Airside Andy. With over three billion air passengers visiting airports every year, airports are to our times what train stations were to the 20th century. There’s no greater time for preschoolers worldwide to have fun watching and exploring them.”

Le Masurier, co-creator of Airside Andy, added: “It really has never been done before: builders, trains, postmen, firemen, lawnmower men, but no one has tackled the wacky-looking vehicles that operate in an airport. And there is no better team than Zodiak Kids Studios to bring this brand to life on the screen. This property has a global appeal that will resonate with kids everywhere.”
