LONDON: Zodiak Kids Studios has entered into a co-production agreement with Discovery Kids Latin America for the new animated series Lilybuds.

Lilybuds centers on a community of small magical creatures who tend to a garden and take care of local animals. The 52×11-minute show has been developed for TV by Eryk Casemiro, who is exec producing for Zodiak Kids Studios with editorial input from Discovery Kids Latin America. Kate Boutilier (Rugrats, Poppy Cat) serves as head writer and co-executive producer. Zodiak Kids is managing the distribution and licensing of Lilybuds. Jean-Philippe Randisi, the CEO of Zodiak Kids, said: “This co-production partnership gives us a great opportunity to create a very special series for younger children, in addition to our already strong preschool portfolio. We’re excited to partner with Discovery Kids Latin America, FTV and Lagardère as we focus our creative energies to engage a broader range of children with the wonderful world of Lilybuds.”

Carolina Lightcap, the executive VP and chief content officer for Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, added: “This exciting co-production will allow us to continue to offer our audience the quality programming they have come to expect from Discovery Kids, highlighting positive messages such as loving and caring for nature.”
