ZDF Studios has licensed Sam and Julia to broadcasters in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary.

Based on the books by Dutch author Karina Schaapman, the series centers on two mice who become best friends while living in the Mouse Mansion. It has been picked up by Česká televize in the Czech Republic, RTV in Slovenia and Slovakia and AMC and MTVA in Hungary.

Sam and Julia is produced by Cielo Films and Superswiss Red, in co-production with ZDF, ZDF Studios, France Télévisions, Caribara and M.A.R.K.13. It is currently airing in France on France Télévisions and Okoo and the Netherlands on AVROTROS and Zappelin. It will launch in early 2025 in Germany on ZDF and KiKA.

“Lovable, captivating, enchanting are words I would use to describe this animated series,” said Arne Lohmann, VP Junior at ZDF Studios. “At the heart of it are very strong values, promoting sustainability and inspiring families to be creative, welcoming and kind. A worthy winner of impressive awards, I look forward to Sam and Julia setting up the Mouse Mansion in even more territories in the near future.”
