Aurora World has launched its flagship animated property YooHoo to the Rescue on the Russian linear kids’ channel Carousel TV.

A co-production with Italy’s Mondo TV, the series debuted in the country in June. Aurora World has also launched TV commercials in Russia for its brand-new line of YooHoo plush toys, which started airing on July 8.

YooHoo to the Rescue airs on Carousel TV on weekdays at 8:25 a.m. from June 24 to August 2; at 5:55 p.m. from September 2 to 27; at 6:25 p.m. from August 28 to December 6; and at 10:30 a.m. from December 9 to 26.

The new line of plush toys set for launch by Aurora World’s exclusive plush toy partner in Russia, Detsky Mir, is a revival of the original line, which was launched in 2007. YooHoo’s Russia and CIS agent, brand4rent, is also planning to launch licensed products in key categories such as publishing, outdoor, confectionery, art and crafts, fashion and accessories.

YooHoo to the Rescue follows as the titular character and his crew travel from the magical forest of YooTopia to Earth to confront threats to nature and wildlife, meeting many different endangered animal species from around the world along the way.

Following its Netflix launch in March, the series has traveled around the world, airing on TV channels in Italy, Poland, Spain and Portugal, among others. Licensed products include stickers, mini figurines and trading cards from Panini, baby products from Nuvita, toiletries from Apple Beauty, magazines from Kennedy Publishing and digital apps on a variety of platforms from a number of specialist app creators.

Jay Noh, director of content business for Aurora World, said: “YooHoo is fast becoming a global phenomenon and the arrival of YooHoo to the Rescue in one of the world’s biggest markets on a leading channel is an important milestone for the property. We are sure that, with the support of our licensing partners in the region, YooHoo will be a major and lasting success in Russia.”
